About KUNSTEN
Founded in Denmark in 2020 by husband and wife team Magnus and Antonia, we set out to create exceptional footwear that blends timeless design with a more thoughtful way of making. Every pair is handmade with care in Europe, using non-toxic, eco-friendly materials and carefully sourced deadstock fabrics from respected mills, used thoughtfully and without waste.
We care deeply about the small things, how something is made, what it's made from and the impact it leaves behind.
Our aspen wood soles are made in Austria and chosen for their lightness, strength and flexibility. The knot-free wood is sustainably sourced and carefully selected for its durability and natural shock absorption. Designed to last a lifetime.
We've developed our own way of making clogs, allowing us to use refined materials such as wool, cashmere and premium denim. The result is a traditional shoe made softer and more comfortable, built around our signature bendable wooden sole that moves naturally with the foot.
We give new life to premium materials sourced from respected mills in the US, Europe and Japan, reducing industry waste while creating footwear made to last. We use Nordic eco-labeled glue trusted in Formula 1, and for every Austrian aspen tree we use, we plant two in its place, ensuring a sustainable legacy.
Every detail matters. We work slowly and deliberately, without mass production or waste, focusing instead on precision, passion and long lasting craftsmanship.

We source our materials carefully from the EU and the US, white-tanned leathers, non-toxic components, virgin wool, cashmere, Italian premium suedes and Spanish cork from Alicante. At the heart of every pair is our signature Austrian aspen wood sole, bendable, lightweight and strong, chosen for its comfort and flexibility.
