The process behind every pair, made by hand

The Materials
Every component we use comes from family-owned and family-run businesses. As a family business ourselves, it is a choice that matters deeply to us.
We source premium surplus and deadstock materials from respected mills in the US, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, France and Japan, giving beautiful fabrics a second life instead of letting them go to waste.
Our leathers and Italian suedes are white-tanned and dyed into our signature hues. Our shearling is pure lambswool, bio-lined and dyed with care, then finished with a soft vegan inner lining.
Whatever suede or denim is left over from our own production is sewn back into our patchwork pairs, which makes every one of them a little more considered, and entirely one of a kind.
Before a pair leaves us, the suede receives a non-toxic protective finish. Natural materials, from sole to lining, made to be kind to your feet and to the earth.

The Hands
When a new design leaves Denmark or Topanga Canyon, it goes to Gosia. An exceptional seamstress, she brings each sketch to life, working closely with our creative director Antonia until the first sample makes its way back to Denmark.
Maja does our patchwork. She lays out the remnants of past pairs and cuts every section by hand, balancing color and texture until each piece feels just right.
Magnus finds our suppliers and knows every local partner who helps make a pair possible. He also makes sure every pair is checked with care before it is shipped.

The Sole
It all begins with aspen wood. Strong, light and free of knots, it is known for its durability and natural shock absorption, and for every aspen tree we use, two are planted in its place.
We shape it into our signature bendable sole, so a traditional wooden clog moves with your foot and walks like a shoe. A natural non-slip rubber outsole is then fixed with a non-toxic Nordic eco-labeled glue from Denmark, the same kind trusted in Formula 1.
Wood and natural materials also let static drift away more easily than synthetic soles, so there are fewer of those little shocks through the day. A small detail, considered from the very beginning.
Engineered to last a lifetime.
There are no shortcuts. Just skilled hands, time, heat, cold and an extraordinary amount of care behind every pair.

The Making
Every step is done by hand. Our signature zigzag stitch is sewn with the finest German threads, and every seam is steamed to strengthen the construction and help it last.
Some things can only be learned with time. Danyta, our most experienced clog maker, has spent more than twenty years kramping, the traditional craft of fixing the upper to the wooden sole. It is a skill guided as much by feel as by sight.
Each upper is steamed and shaped by hand. Once assembled, the clogs rest overnight in a warm oven, and the next morning they are given an ice cold shock that sets their form, a ritual refined over generations of clog making.
Natural materials. Thoughtful construction. Never overproduced.
The best of Earth beneath your feet, leaving as small a footprint as possible.
